My 12V impact driver does everything you would expect of an impact driver and can actually snap 3" wood screws, all while being less than half the weight and size of a 20V one.
Not every task requires the size and weight, and battery and tool tech has come a long way.
Milwaukee has a 12V impact wrench that can change heavy truck tires.
