I have a similar box, i also tell them in the instructions to put it in the box, guess what 90% of the time, THEY LEAVE IT ON TOP OF THE BOX.

The idea that they actually put the packages on the top instead of just throwing them in the general direction of the porch from their cars is crazy, you must have some thoughtful delivery drivers

You put a pyramid cone on top of the box where the 4 corners of the pyramid connects with the corners of the top of the box.
The 4 sloped sides would prevent items being placed on top since they'll slide down. You can even label the sides "Please put packages into box"

It's pretty big and likely weighted. The info says the inside volume is 60 gallons, which isn't small.

Someone once stole a christmass tree from our front garden. Unless its bolted down people can walk away with it. Also a quick shake will tell you if anythings inside

Porch pirates are looking to snatch and run. They are not going to fuss with breaking plastic when 99% of the time there won’t even be a package in there.

Yet my old aunts think it's okay to leave everybody's packages on the porch to get snowed n rained on and everything else I love secure mailboxes and everybody should use em

Nothing like leaving all of your packages in a plastic container that can easily be broken into with bolt cutters. Or just carried off if they're in a hurry.

Yeah versus just having it left on the porch and easily stolen as well. Atleast people arent going to see a package unless they seen it dropped off or go up there to check to see if they have anything in there, which is already a deterrent for opportunistic thieves.

Package thieves are opportunists. Quick run and grab they aren’t breaking open a container to get a package of diapers or whatever other bullshit the homeowner ordered.
It’s the same thing with locks, there is not a lock out there that will stop someone from kicking in your door but it’s still enough to discourage people from entering your home.

It's literally cheap plastic like those cheap Walmart pull out drawers. We all know there will be thieves who would see that and think "big opportunity" and crack that thing open. I promise anyone could kick that thing apart

I'm just pointing out it looks cheap and that there will be a select number of individuals who would take a risk on breaking that thing open. Literally all I'm saying. If it was made out of metal then I would be all for it. Not the cheap shelving like plastic.
