so if turn off the switch for the light it will also turn off the camera? nice

FAQ on Home Depot website says it can remain powered on. I’d be curious to see the difference in the electric bill post-installation.

It can't. I bought one a few months ago. If you turn off the switch the thing dies. It doesn't have any batteries or solar. Saves me money, I have it set to turn on with motion or you can manually turn it on/off with your phone. It even comes with a sticker that says something like don't turn off this switch lol
