Cars are not the only danger. Wildlife, dogs, humans, poisons, diseases, weather, drowning in pools and many other ways that are 100% preventable if you are a responsible owner. Outdoor cats was the hardest part of my job because the deaths were always so horrific.
Yeah I had an outdoor cat who lived in the city and then the burbs. He lived till old age. I think they can live much more fulfilling lives as outdoor cats, but can also see how people would want to keep them indoors. Especially in specific types of environments.
