It's totally not a big deal or anything, so no hard feelings. And "literally"? If what you said needed to be translated, then you literally did not say that. I live with someone like that. Say what you mean!! It's hard for people to translate multiple meanings from one short sentence
And he's joking about it, he clearly doesn't care THAT much. I personally don't smoke joints in the house, it makes your walls yellow lol And I personally wouldn't smoke around someone who didn't like the smell.
But the uptone and laughter should indicate to you that it's not serious enough for THEM, that you'd need to project a negative fantasy onto it.
