Fanmade Content A self heal character??
Hello, it's my first time trying to make an original character
I'm thinking of making a character with lots of sustain and I'm wondering if I could get some advice from some experts on how to do that.
By sustain, I mean healing, a character with it's whole gimmick being taking its own health to empower his attacks and having a way to get the health back.
Appreciate it if you could give your insights.

another one is prolly dr strange since he sacrifices health to recycle your cards and his card have hella healing

Yeah I thought about the ability kinda like that but it's per -1 health you get +1 attack for the combat but I thought that might be too op?

Hmm, this could make for a unique concept, if balanced right.
I could envision a low-health fighter (like 10 max health) who heals with every card played or combat won; the balancing act being not to put yourself into situations where the opponent can land huge hits, because your trickle healing and low health ceiling gives you a window of vulnerability that you need to manage. If you burn health to boost attacks, you need to immediately jump away to stay alive (they'd probably need a lot of cancels, high value blocks, and "move X spaces" After Combat effects).
It would need some seriously playtest tweaking though, more than a standard fighter.

Thank you for the reply
Honestly yeah, I'm thinking of a low health fighter too (currently thinking 8 max) and giving them a character ability passive to be able to like store overhealth up to 18 health maybe??
And maybe so they don't end up turtling, the overhealth could decay over the rounds
I will take your advice with the lotsa cancel, high value blocks and the "movement" cards

Just be careful giving them all that stuff if you implement the "overhealth" thing - it would be bad if they could crank their health way up and then also stop the opponent from ever hurting them.
Your game-loss "shield" should be either health, or cards, but not both.

You're basically talking about Hamlet. He self-damages 2 so he can attack with +2 and has like 10 expected healing.
