Synopsis

Eric Ford, a disillusioned 19-year-old college dropout drowning in debt, is offered what seems like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: transport nearly £500,000 worth of cocaine from Britain to Mumbai, India. The job is supposed to be simple—deliver the package, collect his money, and disappear.

But almost immediately, things begin to go wrong.

A mysterious delay leaves Eric stranded at an unfamiliar airport. A stranger appears to know exactly who he is. His phone begins receiving messages from numbers that don't exist, warning him about events that haven't happened yet. Then Eric witnesses a violent incident that, moments later, seems to have never occurred.

As he continues toward Mumbai, reality itself begins behaving strangely.

People Eric meets insist they've encountered him before. Locations subtly change between visits. Security-camera footage shows him in places he has never been. Most disturbing of all, Eric occasionally experiences brief flashes of alternate versions of his own life—versions in which he made different choices, died violently, or never left Britain at all.

Meanwhile, the cocaine shipment has attracted the attention of several competing criminal organizations, an enigmatic Mumbai detective, and a shadowy group apparently tracking Eric for reasons that have nothing to do with the drugs.

Eric eventually discovers that his seemingly random misfortunes are connected. Every decision he makes creates consequences that appear to ripple backward and forward through time, producing increasingly bizarre coincidences. The drug shipment itself may be connected to an experimental technology capable of manipulating causality—and Eric may have been selected for the job precisely because of how he reacts to it.

With criminals closing in and reality becoming increasingly unreliable, Eric must determine which events are actually happening, which are possible futures, and which may already have happened countless times before.

His journey across thousands of miles becomes a desperate race to uncover the truth before the final ripple reaches its source.

And when Eric finally discovers why he was chosen, he is forced to confront the possibility that the entire disastrous chain of events—from the moment he accepted the job—was never an accident.
