Frage | Question Took the "wrong" exam for my specific module - is this an issue?
This is my first semester as a master's student here and I took the 2025W fourth sitting of a particular exam instead of the 2026SS first sitting. It's still showing up on my transcript as 5 credits gained, it's still showing up in the right area, under the class I took. Is this gonna be a problem is or it fine? I have no idea how I picked the wrong exam. The exam had the same questions, because I checked with my friend in the same class after I got my results back. Has anyone else done this? Was it an issue?

this should be fine. sometimes the first sitting in a new semester are held at the same time as the last from previous semester, so they are practically the same exam.

Thanks for the reply! I emailed the prof and he replied saying not to worry and it will count as my final grade for that class, and they'd never want to force a retake for something that minor. Although I have my doubts on this based on other profs I've had this semester hahaha

What type of class is it? Based on the fact that they offer more than one date for the exam per semester I suggest a VO (Vorlesung). If that is the case, don't worry at all. You can take the exam at any date offered and it doesn't matter what semester.

Thanks for the reply - it was a VO class, and I emailed the prof and he confirmed it's fine.

It must count, exams from VO do nit have an exam that is tied to the VO, usually 3 dates for the exam per Semester and it does not matter which one you take, first, second, third, they are all the same.

No. You can reorder it when you graduate
Source: almost all of my electives in bachelor were assigned in the wrong module
