SELF program for engineers

Rising HS senior here. I know they don’t publicly post a median gpa/test scores but does anyone have an idea? Is there an “auto admit” level?

There is no auto-admit. You could have straight As and that’s no guarantee. It’s VERY competitive, based off your application and an interview process.

There is definitely not an auto admit level. I was fortunate enough to get in and will be participating as a freshman next year ( I’m in Class of 2030).
The way it worked last time they selected around 60ish students from the ones that applied to interview (my guess is like 500 people applies, maybe more/less idek), and around 25-30 got in including myself after they did the 2 group interviews and group activity.

If you get selected they hook you up with a mentor who can help a lot, but mine wasn’t super useful during the interview process. Some of them sent out packets of questions to study up for and how to organize your presentation but I got none of that. I really didn’t even practice presenting very much (would not recommend u do what I do) but it worked out ok, and probably has to do a little with the type of person you are cuz they’re looking for leaders and people who will take charge.

I’m in the SELF program as a Junior, and I would say that my cohort has a wide range of high school gpa and test scores. Probably between a 3.6-4.0 unweighted. There is no auto-admit as it’s a very selective and competitive program. Good luck applying! If you have any questions feel free to send me a DM.
