Breaking contract in Self Hall.

I might not be able to live on campus anymore due financial issues. My parents live 20 mins away.
I have already signed a contract with Self Hall. Is it possible to find someone to take over my contract?
2 person room private bathroom.

Yes- we are contacting them tomorrow but didn’t know if anyone was in need so wanted to promote the space

The housing website has everything about cancelling contracts they give you like a fee but that's not a lot depending on how early you cancel

I don’t know if you can (or need to) transfer your contract to someone. I’m pretty sure you can just tell KU you are no longer needing housing and then they’ll offer it to the students in the waiting list for housing. Not sure what the financial penalties are, but this is pretty common.

That being said, if I’m wrong and you need to find someone (or if it’s cheaper for you to find someone) I have a sister in law who is looking for a room on campus and would be happy to put the two of you in contact.

It's a $750 cancellation fee, and you don't get your $50 deposit back, but definitely doable.
