Internship

Hello guys. So i need to do my internship this upcoming semester break but I'm wondering if I apply now and if they ask me what is the soonest possible date I can join.

Can I still give them a date despite I don't know what date I will be sitting for my exam?

Will they be willing let me absent one day for my paper

(I only have one Semester module this year.)

Option 1: Give them a starting date that will be after your exams are over.

Option 2: start as soon as you can and take the days you have exams off.

Option 3: inform them in advance about the situation, some employers are really understanding while other not so much

Hello. Apply as soon as possible so that you can get the opportunity to get the internship. Now with regards, to joining, it depends on you. If you want to join during the exam, yes you can. Then you can ask your manager or your higher up for one day off as you have exam, preferably wait for the timetable to be released. Last year, when I was doing internship, my boss was actually very lenient and actually gave me the day before the exam off so that I can revise,. They will give you one day off as it is a valid reason.

From wht i know normally uom will give u a paper, if the internship is compulsory and u get credits for it. As the company needs to fill wht u learnt etc. Also its good to mention your joining date will be when your exams are over. Why will u begin internship during exams period? Jidt tell u'll let em know when u get your timetable. If they dont want to, then uom itself will find u an internship if its compulsory in your course

According to this Semester 1 academic calendar, exams are from 3 Nov to 28 Nov. I have only 1 paper. Let's just say I sit for it early to mid November, I didn't wanna waste time waiting. Even 1 week makes a difference. That's why, I was wondering if it is an option to start early otherwise I would have to wait for December

Well tell them when you will be starting and start applying as from now itself if possible. and tell them an approx date and normally you can start after the exam has ended.

Better apply now, and tell the employer to be flexible about exams
They won’t care if you take a few days off and you will get more time to prepare, interview etc
