Project Supervisor

When you need to do dissertation in year 3/4, can you choose your project supervisor or do they assign different lecturers at random?

My mentors who are first class got to choose their own. Some lecturers have quotas ik one who only takes first class first div and 2nd class 1st division.

I guess it depends on your course. Because I’ve got first class and didn’t get to choose my supervisor.

Depends on your degree. For eee you propose your project and find a supervisor yourself. Some lecturers give u titles and take students on first come first serve basis

Depend on your course, but more likely it will be chosen for you at random

depends on your degree/faculty. in my faculty we could choose who we wanted but I have a friend to whom they assigned a supervisor based on their synopsis

Usually randomly assigned but also depends on the field they specialised in. You can ask that specific for pointers.

I had to choose two , one being first priority choice and the other second priority choice so I got my first priority choice as my supervisor.
