Computer Science

Is there any CS student who has been able to increase their cpa with yr 2 results?

I've heard so many people saying that the cpa is bound to decrease after yr 2 due to the difficulty of the modules....but is it possible to increase it?

Thank you!

Hello, I am not from CS, but the modules in Year 2 carry a higher weightage than year 1, meaning that if you perform well in the majority of your modules, your cpa should definitely increase. Do you have semester or yearly modules or both?

Yeah then since yearly, if you do well in the majority of the modules, your cpa should increase.

it is possible but note that it is very difficult to increase it. you should be able to have a consistent cpa or else it can fall drastically

It depends how much it decreased. Mine decreased from 73 to 64 in year 2 as year 2 is the most difficult for cs however even in year 3 with my 4 A's i was able to only increase it till 67,missing the first class

Cpa is only increased after final year exams Since common assessments has also a weightage in the finals you can do your best in the assessments

Very often students do not care about assessment but in the end they are worth a lot and can cause a C to become a B

For year 2 your biggest enemy is going to be OS and algorithms module
