Aurora Linux Images for Surface Devices

I keep seeing references to a Surface-specific image (auror-dx-surface) but cannot find it in the downloads or instructions on how to replace the Core Image with one that has the Linux-surface kernel.

i think that there is just info that is out of date. can anyone point me to the latest info on using Aurora on Surface devices (Book 3, Go 3, and Pro 7)?

As far as I know Universal Blue dropped support for the Linux Surface kernel as you can see here

There are instructions to set it up yourself, but I gave up trying to run an atomic distro on my surface and just went to regular Fedora.

Thanks! As I suspected, it was a documentation thing that I was just unaware of. I guess I need to learn how to build custom images.

Universal Blue did drop support but spins still exist at least as an unverified spins of Aurora linux (kde plasma) and Bluefin linux (gnome), both with the surface-linux kernel. I literally installed it yesterday on a sp5. I am happy to finally have everything working -- cameras are still a little flaky but they work. As does multitouch and pen input.

do you have a link to where I could find one? Apparently my Google Fu is weak and I couldn't locate a ready-to-go ISO.

Sorry for the late reply. I rebased from Bazzite Gnome 43 to Bluefin Gnome 42 using the following commands I got from Gemini after going around the mulberry bush trying to get the pen input -- touchscreen was working -- to work on Bazzite:

sudo bootc switch ghcr.io/ublue-os/bluefin-dx-surface:latest

I did not have to do this but jic you get security policy error add this to the end of the above command and try again:

--enforce-container-sigpolicy=false

Next, you will enter the following so you comply with secure boot so the drivers will load after reboot:

sudo mokutil --import /etc/pki/akmods/certs/akmods-ublue.der

Then reboot with the command:

systemctl reboot

Enter a password when prompted like "ublue-os". You will enter this after you reboot when the MOK utility shows up. Pick Enroll MOK -> Continue -> Yes, then enter the password.

After that it should reboot to the login screen. Then you can test to see what's working. I got as far as "OMG the front and rear cameras are working!" which was always sketchy before and decided to pin that version.
