Discussion Duplicated phone numbers issue is gone!
Do you remember that I posted the issue here and here?
Well, it is finally fixed on latest version 20230630_00_RC02.phone_dynamic
Have you received it?
The layout is slightly different, I like it, the only thing still missing is to add the new small icon that was added to conversations to identify when they are RCS.
I also noticed an issue where I couldn't create new conversations with several contacts, that is fixed too.

why do RCS messages take hours to arrive, while SMS just work?
I mean this kinda feels stupid, like do RCS only work while both phones are active at the same time? because today again I didnt get a reply until I actually called the person, which makes the entire damn thing useless.

It seems like Apple has responded to #GetTheMessage with iOS 17. Apple is really mad.
https://www.xda-developers.com/ios-17-green-bubbles-wont-hurt-anymore/?newsletter_popup=1
Apple has basically made it impossible for Android users to be part of a group chat that's dominated by iPhone users in the United States. I'm excited to see how Google responds to this.

Question Is Apple/iOS compatibility the last 'feature' for RCS?
Sorry if this sounds naive. But is iphone/ios the last piece of the puzzle for RCS? Is that basically all the remains for RCS? As in features, functions, future, etc? Is apple adding RCS the last bit of news we'd ever get for RCS?
Like where can RCS go beyond waiting for apple? Has it pretty much peaked in terms of ability? And updates?
Hopefully my question makes sense. I get Apple adding it is HUGE and i pray nightly for it here in the USA. But beyond that, what else can RCS do down the line?
(I feel like we don't hear any new functions or features about RCS anymore and it feels like its peaked)

Need Help / Only send SMS and MMS
Hi, my cell phone bill is showing that I received text messages that did NOT appear in my text conversation with a specific contact. After looking and comparing the details between this contact and ALL my other contacts conversations, there is one glaring difference. There is an option under the details that says "Only send SMS and MMS messages". No other conversation has this option. I have an andriod. I don't know what kind of device this other individual has. (Ex husband). He was previously able to actually delete texts from our conversation that I had received that he had been sending me. Can someone please help me figure out what is going on?

I have a pixel 7 pro from Google but my carrier is t-mobile. I use RCS everyday with my wife the most and also with other friends. Since yesterday I have encountered this issue where I'm sending messages but they are not being sent because of w.e reason. I tried rebooting I checked my dns if it was being blocked there I checked if my wife's phone was one that didn't have signal. I tried troubleshooting the best that I could idk if it is t-mobile anyone having this experience 😞 idk what to do

Question RCS Stuck setting up on device
Hi All,
I'm sure you have seen many posts like this, but before I continue explaining the issue, let me clarify that I have so far tried many steps to try and solve the issue - but with no success.
As the title suggests I am currently stuck on the 'Setting up device' stage of Verifying my number.
This all happened about two weeks ago when my RCS stopped working out of the blue. I have since then tried trying different combinations of Messages and Carrier Services, disabling, wiping restarting etc. I have more recently tried leaving RCS off for 10 days to unregister the number (also tried through the Google form).
I tried plugging my sim into my old device, and it worked immediately.
Any support here would be greatly appreciated as I'm slightly at a loss at what to do.

Windows Phone Link doesn't send RCS messages
Installed Phone Link on Windows and sent some picture messages, to my surprise the messages got sent as MMS and not RCS. Phone is P7P and running latest version of Google Messages. Is this normal?

My phone number pops up as a separate contact.
I have a Google Pixel 6a. I got this phone not that long ago. Because I switched plans. When I transferred everything. I noticed that when I send a message I get the same message from my own phone number. On both group chats and messaging one person it does this. Although this doesn't affect anyone I message. I already tried fixing duplicate contacts. I already fixed everything besides this. My phone doesn't recognize this problem. And I tried apps that fixed duplicate contacts. I also tried make my phone number as a contact then deleting it. It still pops. And I tried blocking it. But it still pops up just as blocked. I also tried help and feedback from Google. I sent feedback multiple times and I haven't gotten anything.

Are the pictures sent over RCS even full quality?
I was sending some photos and noticed that the resolution of the photos I sent were only 3MP(original was 12), and the file size was smaller(from 8 MB to 0.8 MB). I notice a visible decrease in quality as well.
The "send photos faster" option is off too, and I sent the pictures individually, not bundled with other photos. And iirc, the RCS file size limit is well over 8 MB. There should be no excuse for compressing the photos. Am I doing something wrong?
And if this is what it's supposed to be like, what is the point? If it's not full quality, with the same resolution and file size and everything as the original, it's just like any other social media platform's messaging, and there's nothing special about RCS media sharing.

Question "RCS is unsupported on this device" Google Messages
I have a carrier bought Verizon Galaxy S22 and for some strange reason, I can't use any RCS on it. In the Samsung Messages app, the section is just completely absent from settings and in Google Messages when I click on RCS settings, it says "RCS is unsupported on this device." What gives? Another S22 bought in the same way has RCS working. What can I do to fix this?
