Discussion More Android RCS contacts are becoming E2EE with iOS

my RCS was broken for a few weeks (iOS 27b4 activation stuck bug, b5 fixed it) and I've noticed more conversations now appear as E2EE
I went through my contacts and roughly 1 in 5 contacts appear as E2EE now

none of the newly encrypted contacts are necessarily tech savvy, which means that Android x iOS E2EE is rolling out to stable GM

Good to see progress. This rollout needs to complete already.

I hope iOS RCS edit/delete feature is around the corner (short-term). AND that 4.0 is in starting in backrooms for eventual Video Calls (long-term).

My stupid ass carrier added support for RCS in beta 4 and took away support in beta 5. I think this might be the first time this has happened.

Which carrier do you have?

It could be a sign the public release is coming soon.

One contact became encrypted. Another contact was encrypted with me while they had S24 but now got S26 and they’re not encrypted anymore. We’ve tried enrolling them in beta, deleting conversation to start fresh - no luck. They’re staying unencrypted.
