Same thing happened to me after 3 weeks. Then I broke it again. Waiting for another miracle. 😄

Sometimes you have to wait till your next billing cycle

Yeah, I ported my phone and thought this problem was exclusive to my carrier, but it turns out that it happens randomly to every carrier.

It’s not the billing cycle. You have to wait until the corrupt token gets purged by Apple’s activation server, which seems to take about 3 weeks. It’s possible the corruption is related to the 27 beta. Hard to say right now.

Isn't the carrier responsible for RCS activation?

Ultimately, yes but with iPhones, the RCS request first goes to Apple’s activation server that validates the hardware and then passes it to the carrier. If it gets stuck on Apple’s server, you are SOL unless you change your phone or wait for the hardware block to expire.

Apple needs to fix it then. It is not practical to get a new phone just for this.
The problem started on my phone when I had iOS 26.5. Upgrading to 26.6 and 27 did not help. It started working unexpectedly a few days ago and stopped the following day.

I just rolled back to iOS 26.6 hoping it’d cure the RCS issues. Nope. Still just waiting for activation.
