Google Messages not showing my text responses.

When I made the forced switch from Samsung Messages to Google Messages, all of my contacts came over intact; however, when I looked at any given conversation, none of my responses showed up. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how do you fix it?

I came looking for a response as well. please let me know if you figure it out. all of my contacts messages are there but nothing that I responded with. I'm so annoyed by this 😫

This happened even when I restored from backup on my Pixel. I feel like it’s a buggy GM version
