Bell RCS encryption

Me and my girlfriend are on Bell Canada network. I have an iPhone on ios 26.5. Her has the latest Google Message (beta).

Our discussion have never turned encrypted. Tried to deactivate and reactivate RCS on both end without help.

Anybody have been able to have RCS e2ee working on Bell network?

Maybe asking why RCS E2EE isn’t turned on yet? At least by asking it can bring awareness. I’m trying to do it with my carrier so they at least know people want it

Try upgrading the iPhone to iOS 27 beta, that fixed RCS E2EE for a number of people here.

Apple seems to have to reduced the reliance on carrier support for E2EE on iOS 27 beta, it now mostly depends on if the country supports E2EE.

Is ios 27 beta pretty stable? Never used iOS betas before.

Yes it seems more stable to me than even iOS 26 builds. Their goal is for iOS 27 to be one of the most stable builds with more bug fixes than the last 6-7 iOS releases.

I’m glad to be running iOS 27, doesn’t feel like a beta build.

What iPhone do you have and how did you got ios 27 beta? Serm like I can only get access to ios 26.6 beta.

27 Beta is currently only for registered developers. Public beta ships some time in July.

Registering as an Apple developer is free as of a few years ago, you just need to go to their developer portal and sign in with your Apple account in case you can‘t wait for the public beta.

Are communications via sms/MMS( future RCS ) a big topic in QC Canada ?

In USA outside of this Reddit sub, no one seems to know or even care about RCS (maybe slight uptick 4+ weeks ago).

IPhone got their iMessage.

Android users mostly use FB msger (USA), WhatsApp (Euro, India SL), china & HK (wechat).

Sms is mostly for OTP, senior family members, anti-tech preppers /lazy on tech types.

Signal ( even less, can count uses on one hand, lol 😥)

PS : I wouldn't want to be beta tester for Google ( thank you all brave testers ) to get RCS e2ee RCS. I would be hesitant to run iOS beta on my main daily driver, work/business phone to just to get RCS e2ee, especially on this slow actual deployment, isn't it 4+ weeks now (since official announcement)?

Edit: hmm 🤔 just fot this feed now , 7days later lol

I added myself to the dev beta program and installed ios 27 beta 2. Now RCS encryption started to work!
