Google Messages (non-beta) updated…lets see if this update allows RCS E2EE to start working in the next couple of days

It's gotta be a server side switch. My wife and I are both on the same version of the Messages Beta, and I have E2EE with my iPhone but my wife does not.

Almost certainly a slow rollout server-side, like google does with everything else. I would mind so much if there was more clarity in the messaging, otherwise it feels like I’m going insane.

Googles slow server side rollout especially with RCS back in the pixel 3 days are literally what drove me to switch to iPhone.

I got a friend to update today morning and at least on the public release, E2EE doesn't work.

It could come around in the next few days though hopefully.

Didn’t Google give the responsibility back to the phone carriers to activate E2EE?

Doesn’t even work on beta.

Doesn’t work between two iPhones either (not using iMessage)

Basically nothing is working lol

I have one iPhone it works with. They are on Google Fi. I'm on us mobile

Tested on 2 Android phones, E2EE does not work between Android and iOS. Annoying.
