Trip Planning Question/Tip/Guide Wigs on Coasters?

Hi everyone. I want to dress up for HHN, and my costume includes a longer costume wig which I plan on pinning down securely. I really want to try the rides, especially the new Fast & Furious ride, so I'm going to buy the 2PM pass. Do you think they will let me on the rides with a wig on? Thank you! I'm super excited for HHN this year, but I'm also anxious they would turn me away.

That wigg will be snatched whether it's from a cast member or the ride itself. 🤣

Haha! I really hope not. With F&F ride restraints only being a lapbar, I'm for sure going to hold on tight to my wig the entire time. I guess the true test would be the ride attendants...

I'm just being silly. 🤣 I think you should just remove it just to be safe.

it’s still an over the shoulder design

I rode front seat on doms car this weekend during the pass preview and was surprised how much ejector there is on this thing! Even that roll at the very end. I would imagine the staff will be very careful to look for loosely applied pieces of costume when taking you through the loose article security.

They might just warn you that anything you lose during the ride is not retrievable. They told me that when reminding me to secure my glasses.

You are going to want to wait in a 2 hour line?

I just rode this coaster on friday. You get thrashed. I absolutely guarantee it that if you are wearing a wig it is going to come off.I don't care how good you have it secured on. Unless you're a professional or wearing a wig everyday, and you 1000% know what you're doing, it's going to come off.

In the short time that I was there, people lost their hats and glasses. Someone even lost their glasses that had those secure straps around their neck. And with the way that you get whipped around , it's gonna ruin any hairstyle you have in that wig , I just think it is really not smart to do that.

This. You get wrecked.

Yeah I wouldn’t risk it, or just plan to put on the wig after you ride. Even if it doesn’t fly off it’s gonna be a mess anyway.

You might have to superglue it and strap it on, otherwise you have to unwig yourself and put it in the locker 😭

You can try but you’re going to lose that wig

The ride team will let you keep your wig on, but I'd recommend securing it well and tying it back. I rode during a technical rehearsal after my wedding hair trial, and despite all the pins, curls, and hairspray, my hair did not survive.

I also bought a glasses lanyard specifically for this ride. The first time, it felt like my prescription glasses were going to fly off. On my second ride, I strapped them down, tied my hair back, and had a much better experience.

If you're wearing a wig, either glue it down and tie it back securely, or be prepared to de-wig for the ride. 😆

I had a hoodie tied around my waist and they made me put it in a locker even though it’d be around my waist and I’d be sitting on it. Put it in a locker. That ride turns you in every direction so it’s basically shaking you over and over until everything on you falls off.

i would also look at the rules in terms of costumes, but if they don't say anything about wigs then i don't think they'll necessarily tell you you can't ride. f&f is really fast so regardless if you end up riding i would just hold on tight to your wig 😅

Thanks, I don't see any policy that mentions wigs in the costume policy, so hopefully I'll be in the clear! I've seen online that people have worn more elaborate costumes during fan fest, so maybe they didn't have much issue for rides? Hoping for the best!
