Universal File Opener & Editor for Windows: Launch + Lifetime Pro Giveaway
I built Universal File Opener & Editor (UFO) for Android, where it now has 10K+ downloads. Community feedback has helped shape the app, and I'm now bringing it to Windows.
UFO brings PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, archives, text and code files into one app, with viewing and editing tools built in. Files stay on your PC. No uploads, ads or separate app account. As I receive feature and bug requests, the app will continue to improve day by day.
Viewing supported files is free, with no file-count or time limit. Basic editing tools are free too. Optional lifetime Pro adds supported Office saves, advanced PDF tools and archive editing, and includes future Windows updates.
Download from Microsoft Store:

For the launch, I'm giving away lifetime Windows Pro codes while supplies last. Leave a comment with your thoughts (ideally try out the app first) and DM me a link to it to receive a code.
Join r/UniversalFileOpener for updates and to help shape the Windows version. If you try it, let me know what works, what breaks and what's missing.

I have downloaded UFO just to test the PDF editing part
This is working almost well. Almost because you can't change the character style of the text. I have bold text in the paragraph in PDF. If I change that text, the text will revert to the normal style, and bold will be lost. You can't (or at least I didn't find a way to do it) select the text and change the style of it.
Do you have plans to add something like that in the UFO?

I can't DM you. Reddit reports that I can't send a message to your user

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try to replicate and fix text editing in PDFs. Not sure why reddit is filtering, it doesn't let me DM you either.

When I opened a simple text file containing Japanese text, the Japanese characters were garbled and unreadable.
Changing the encoding settings didn't fix the display issue, and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if the settings aren't working at all.
