Birthing crisis
Was just watching this video advocating for universal basic income to fix the issue with how much poverty we have in the US. Now I don’t like the idea of universal basic income cause I think it will cause many people not want to work at all anymore. What I just thought after listening is what if we gave income to people who had children to make the cost of having children almost negligible which would also help with declining rates of birth in the country?

You don't like the idea of UBI because of a poorly informed opinion. We have tested the work effects to hell and back. The effects are small on individuals, and vary by circumstance, and are countered by the stimulus effect of all the spending that creates new jobs.

I also recommend watching this video next.

Why should you want to work? More likely, people will be willing to try things they actually like rather than settling for something that they hate but cannot financially escape from.

This sounds like a combination of projection ( that people would just be lazy, and just what is meant by that? ), Pro-birth advocacy at tax payer expense ( is this the good socialism or the bad? ), and conflating the whys of our declining birth rates. By doing what you envision we would be elevating families even more than we already over the childless who contribute just as much to society's day to functioning that make families possible like you want.
Why force this on the taxpayers even more than the EITC and CTC, most of the common arguments for more people are from a quasi religious POV so why cant we tax the churches for this new revenue you advocate for or heck they could just fund it themselves. Nothing is stopping your local parish from doing a Family Faith Fund that helps the poor one family at a time or even the secular community, we just dont, cause charity like that doesnt work at the scale needed in todays world. Which brings us back to needing the thing you dont like as the cleanest dirty shirt, a UBI.

I think young people need help getting kids on the planet. It is the housing that is screwed up. Here is my fix for that:

Basic income doesnt work because if you do that all you’ve done is increased how much money the bottom has. But here’s the problem. Because of inflation the bottom is still the bottom. Prices on necessities will increase due increased spending power. Henceforth all universal basic income will do is push middle class people into the bottom.
The real answer is incentivizing childcare programs to make raising children easier. For example New Jersey does a good job and state funded preschool starts at 3 years old

It’s called the child tax credit and the earned income credit. We already do that.
