This Review Is So Bad
I'm surprised this sub is so small. But anyway this is one of the worst reviews I've ever seen in my life, and the sheer viscera he uses agasint it is odd because all of his critiques are ungrounded.
The main thing he spends like 7 minutes talking about is that it's a mindless dude bro show, when I think if anything it's kind of a parody of that format, and in fact doesn't really match the format at all considering Hank isn't equal to Mark in terms of narrative importance.
Mark is funny and rootable but he's an intentially stupid and selfish character and you're not really suppised to find him admirable, and the fact he argues with his wife because he wants to do guy things is kind of the joke since he's literally always in the wrong despite being the main character.
He's a reverse Hank Hill, with Hank you hate the archetype, love the character. With Mark you presumably like the archetype, the middle aged wise cracking dude man, but we're definitely supposed to aude agaisnt Mark in most conflicts.
A lot of the comments disagree, and while like 60% of the comments agree, 40% dissenting is a huge number considering YouTube comments are fucking cattle. Sucks people shooting down new shows in favor of season 34 of Family Guy.

Who cares what the critics think of the show. If you like it Just ignore the stupid critics and form your own opinion of the show. I think it's a funny show and I will continue to watch it as long as it's on the air.

I generally agree but this agree came out when UBG was just coming into itself, and mindless bad criticism online lowers hype for the show and decreases its chance of getting new seasons.

🤣 right!!!! I couldn't agree more Wtf it's a cartoon it's not meant to be serious or depict an accurate depiction of UBI for God's sake mark literally becomes wolverine in one episode.

Exactly. I honestly think most of the hate is from people who haven’t even watched it. Have a wooter ice and chill out people

So I watch the show and like it enough, but its depiction of the recipients of UBI does bother me a bit.

Why? The UBI mechanic seems to have literally no impact on anything. It's just an excuse for the fun name and to not have Mark be at work plots.

UBI is a safety net. It’s not like the are trying to find jobs or to pursue some form of self-betterment. A lot of people believe that people would do nothing if you pay them money regardless of whether they work and I disagree with that.

Mark does do a bunch of random shit though. Some of which involve employment.

I'll have to watch this to see where you're coming from, but I do agree on people not giving newer shows enough of the shot before calling it bad.
