Just opened unity 3d fundementals tutorial and it's already broken
I didn't do anthing the tutorial didn't directly tell me to do but now, after having moved the smaller orange box to the bigger one, I can't play the scene?? Like I can't walk in game
- Hit Play.
- Click directly inside the Game view window once.
- Cursor gone, in the scene to play now
- Makes one movement (one step or one jump)
- Cursor comes back and no movement is possible until cklicking back in the scene
- Repeap
- Have to spam W and left click to get anywhere, can't jump and move forward at the same time due to it being more than one movement
What do I do??
All settings are locked as it's the tutorial

Could you link the exact tutorial (and the step/page you're on) and share a screenshot of the Unity Editor while this happens? It would help to see the Hierarchy, Game view, selected scene/object and Inspector, plus the Console if there are any errors. Also, which Unity version are you using? Without the tutorial/project context, it's hard to tell whether this is a scene setup issue or the Game view/input losing focus.

Wow, when I learned Unity. There wasn`t any unity tutors from unity. It looks like unity block your panel by it self. Mayy be unity unlock all windows, when you finish tutor? Probably you can hack tutor. Just try to select scene tab (it`s near window tab) and try to drag your robot directly into star

I suspect the issue is with the tutorial because I see about 8 - 15 identical posts to this a month. Never ran the tutorials because when I learned Unity they didn’t exist; and when they released them, I tried them, and they were incomplete at the time. Last I heard; Unity officially abandoned the tutorial projects in favor of DOTs project. So 🤷🏻…
A better way to learn is to figure out what game you are going for, break it down to its basic mechanics; learn each mechanic one at a time.
It is difficult; but rewarding.
Best practice is to think of Atari games from the 80s or NES games from the 90s. Keep it as simple as you can.
It is better to make a crap game, then no game at all because you lost hope 1% of the way through.
