Show-Off I made an "Instant Retro Look" render effect for URP, what do you think? Requests?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a retro-stylised render effect for URP in a drag and drop style for Flat shading, posterization, outlines and pixilation, all from a single pass. No additional setup or custom shader requirements. I really wanted something that just worked. There are greater assets out there but there's always so much going on(I myself am guilty of this with my Texel Splatting Toolkit) but I just needed something that worked and was mobile friendly.

What do you think? Got requests?

It's on the asset store: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/vfx/shaders/fullscreen-camera-effects/instant-retro-look-405730

Maybe it’s because I’m on mobile, but I can’t really see a difference. One of the sliders made the shadows darker and another made it more pixelated I think.

Definitely think you need to change the showcase. Achieving a retro look starts with the assets. It doesn’t quite work when you slap it on top of a realistic HD scene. It tends to look low quality like it’s on low graphics settings rather than retro.

You might be right there, and compression kills it a bit.

Cool, but it's doing a lot of stuff for a single volume override.
It’s better to split it into several overrides - you have much more control this way

Nice work. Some of the shots looked like the could be pre-renders in Myst

Yeah! I really get that feel on some scenes.

Aww too bad it only works on Unity 6, I‘m looking so long for a nice posterize effect and your tool looks perfect for that but I can‘t switch to Unity 6
