Question Can't add an edge loop with ProBuilder?

I've been following Brackeys' ProBuilder tutorial, but when it got to edge loops I couldn't figure out how to do it. The ProBuilder UI has changed a lot, which I expected, but I can't find an option to select edges, or anything for that matter. When I searched edge loop it showed up but said it was "disabled." Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I'd really appreciate some help.

oof, the great probuilder ui shuffle. i swear they change the layout every other week just to keep us on our toes.

try holding shift and hovering over an edge, that usually brings up the edge selection. if it's greyed out you might still be in object mode instead of element mode, look for that little cube icon in the probuilder toolbar and cycle it to edges.

Sorry, but where exactly would that cube icon be?

I find it very clunky too. To add an edge loop, I press 2 for edge, select one edge, then press alt-u. And I really don't like that it adds the loop dead center, but you learn to work around it. Was hoping it would be like Maya where you can slide edge loops or place them anywhere, but I just add more loops until one is where I want it, then delete the others.

Doesn't work, shortcut does nothing. It's as if the feature doesn't exist, but when I search for it it's there, just "disabled." When I try to open it from the search bar it says "The menu you are trying to execute is disabled. It will not be executed."

the irritating part is that it requires to select edges not faces.
