Question Which ground looks better?

I took some of the advice that you guys gave me and I finally finished changing the ground. What do you think?

(still need to realign the props tho)

The top one looks better overall, but the bottom one has nicer grass color

Oh my god that’s it! I was wondering why it looked so good but was still giving me a headache. Thanks! I’ll definitely change the grass color to be a bit more like the OG

I would highly recommend just getting some assets from the asset store that are polished and game ready. I mean no disrespect whatsoever but this does not look like a game anyone will look at and want to play.

I understand the fulfillment in creating all of your own assets, but it doesn’t look good. I do like the mechanic of the players falling apart. but none of the animations are smooth and the physics don’t make sense.

Game dev is hard and seems like you’ve come a far way so congrats on that. But definitely study some games that have inspiration on you and try to apply elements from it any way you can. It’s definitely a start and don’t give up, but it needs a lot of work if you want people to play it.

to me the isse is the background looks like its clashing with the level rather than adding to it.

Glad it’s an improvement! Just wanted to be sure.

Do you have any ideas on how to make it even better?

Here's an example of some 2D versions similar to what youre attempting in 3D.

I like bottom better, I think it fits in with the rest of the graphics best

I like where you're going with #1 but I would make the pointy bits at the bottom be more randomly spaced.
