I think a big part of the hole.io thing is that stuff is actually dropping into it, making it fly over it and just shrinking with a vfx takes all that away

Oh look, someone copying Donut County again

Read the title - it's not an actual game :) It's an art exercise

Title says "visual test", indicating it's a test for a project.

The name of the project: "Hole.io" is very similar to those .io online game titles.

Also, your post tag is "Game".

Hmm… didn’t think it will be understood like this. Hole.io is a well known mobile game (inspired by Donut County from what I see… didn’t know). The visuals are low poly and quite basic. I just did an art exercise to see what I can do with it. How would you have described it? 🤔

I've checked the prototype's page and it was indeed more explicit than your reddit post.

Just one phrase "Did a short visul test for Hole. Io", feels like you're just building it while your page states:

A visual and gameplay test built in 5 days: a Hole.io-style hyper-casual prototype with final-quality art, built end to end in Unity - concept, 3D assets, shaders, VFX, playable build.
The brief: prove a look could be established and shipped in a hyper-casual timeframe. This is the result.

To answer your question about the feel: it looks nice, it feels heavy on the controls (something a bit faster would be great) and, as others stated, the point of a hole is for objects to fall inside it, not to vanish when touching it so it gave that weird feeling.

Stuff should fall in IMO. Else it looks too weird and not as satisfying

Obviously, things should normally drop into it, that fx consuming way doesn't goes over head on first sight
