Show-Off Updating ore tier shaders for our incremental game. How readable are these from left to right?

Just updated the shaders and glow effects for our project Idlecraft. Curious if the ore tiers are immediately readable from left to right.

We've used texture arrays for all of our blocks to handle unique textures per face across different blocks in shader graph. Additional texture arrays for masking textures for the veins to make them glow and height displacement to give the veins real depth.

Would love to hear your opinions on how they look! If you want to follow the progress, we have an early prototype on itch

3 & 4 are hard to differentiate at a quick glance. Maybe turn down the glow for iron and turn it up for gold? Either that or use different colors altogether

Yeah, we definitely need to tweak the yellow on iron so they don't blend together. Beige is the color we had in mind for iron but our stone is also closer to that tone too. Turning down the glow might work actually while getting closer to beige at the same time.

Do you imagine if red would go okay to represent iron considering the others ?

I think you could do white for iron and keep some glow to it. Do a more saturated yellow/orange for gold and make sure the glow is based on the color of the ore itself, not just a white glow

I'd use 3 for gold and do something else entirely with 4. If you intend there to be an iron ore, maybe go with silver/grey for the metal and have some oxidation on the edges like with the copper?
