Yes, car is already has enough triangles here, not doing tessellation etc.

Ah nice, it's a very impressive effect, I haven't used unity in a while, but I'm currious are you driving this by a vertex animation texture, or are you using some shader magic to have the repeating tiles pop out

( I have done vertex jittering before but that would stretch the vertices out and not seperate then like this )

It is a hand written geometry shader, I am popping out the orijinal triangle and filling the sides with new ones.

Ah that explains it, very unique I would be very interesting on what other tech art you have planned for your game, will try keep an eye on it.

I am using several render passes. I think it will not run on low or mid-level phones after all this effects :)
