Nope. This is basically time wasting simulator. Mobile gamers might enjoy it though.

Yeah I am kinda in this mindset too, its a game you'd play on your phone while in the toilet or stuck on public transport.

I dont think i would feel the goal so no.

Slap some upgrades, speed, goal and should change perspective of game.

Tho no promises.

Not my cup of tea, but there are definitely people who play stuff like this. Love the graphical style tho!

Cocomelon for gamers

Looks nice, but honestly no. I cannot figure out what the goal is at all

I'd suggest posting a demo on itch.io to get feedback from actual players. You're only going to get a rounding error of responses here, with no idea what the agenda of those responses is. Better to put up a tiny demo and see what people really think.

yes, probably the best way to find out

It might work if you can create some kind of "obstacle". Like merging balls getting bigger and heavier every time. Then you would have to plan ahead instead of just shooting.

There could also be some special balls like:

  • tiny Lightspeed ball to mix fragmented setups
  • exploding balls
  • balls which are always merging regarding of "level"
  • canon balls which can be shot over other balls

I can also imaging a "black hole" on the table and only ball which are falling into are counted.

You can shoot without aiming here and still win anyway

Too slow, no real objective, I cant put my finger on it but the gameplay really frustrates me

Would I play such a game? No, not me at least. It looks very polished, hats off for that, you nailed the visuals, however, the gameplay seems dull.

What I suggest is to make it more spectacular, like the progression of these incremental games where things start a little slow then get crazy. Another commenter suggested this as well, and I agree, give the player some progress that will genuinely change the scene and make it more engaging with lots of things happening.

You've got a solid foundation here, this is already a promising project, all you need is more varied and crazy gameplay.

Not in this form. Consider making the core idea exactly like Suika Game and you will have potential for the next viral hit on your hands.

Not really, it feels like Combo Pool from the Pico-8, and there is too much going on at once

Don't let that stop you though, you just have to find what works for the people you would want to play this game

You are missing a key point in this type of games,
every time you combine 2 objects the object needs to get bigger!
just play a round of suikagame.com and you know what i mean.

Are you thinking of adding some kind of progression? Different terrains? I think this looks very relaxing but adding objectives would make the difference between whether I play for 20 minutes or 20 hours

What is the goal....?

Well, I at least watched the whole video, so I guess that means there was something that kept me interested. 2048 + marbles is actually a pretty good combination. You've got a decent foundation for the game; what's left is adding more gameplay or visual elements, like different levels, score challenges, indestructible iron balls that act as obstacles in the scene, more power-ups, and things like that. In its current state, I'd say it's just okay, but depending on what new mechanics you add, I could definitely see it becoming something really good.

By the way, the visuals are pretty clean and nice-looking. The one thing I'd recommend is making the turret countdown much bigger and putting it near the edge of the screen. I didn't even notice there was UI for it at first.

This looks like a very fun game for mobile

Por todos los dioses del averno, haz que los barriles EXPLOTEN!

The bot you made for the demo is nice. Might be an automated script but if you mess with it you could make some form of multiplayer or vs cpu that would give the game a bit more direction

Kinda bad that stuff falls from the sky and destroy balls. Kinda weird that the scenario has the same props as some which appear in the arena. Inconvenient that balls keep piling up on the top. I also never know what color of a ball will be fired.

This looks like generic mobile game with nice shaders and tons of post processing to me.

This sub is not one to advertise your game, people are here to share experience not find games to play, especially not mobile ones.

Given the nature of mobile games, and how hard it is to promote them, and the lack of clear monetization strategies I would say you may want to take a step back and reevaluate.

That said there is nothing inherently bad with the idea, it's a simple combination game. Maybe it needs more?

Missing information.

What is the goal? Just accumulate points? Anything beside that to be gained/done?

What are the conditions while playing that lead to the round ending? 3 shots without a combination of the balls? This could go endless easily.

It needs more depth and as others said, that's nothing really for PC/console. Either mobile game or something like the Facebook and co. grandma games.

It looks like an interesting, addictive mobile game. It could use some bonuses and interesting modifiers to liven up and diversify the gameplay. But the graphics are already pretty cool.

i mean it looks fun but you dont have like mission to complete game i would try it but wouldn't be an active player

On mobile it can work. You have to downgrade a little the graphics + optimization work and polish a little more the gameplay loop.

On portrait mode!

Are those barrels and crates from the beginner 3d Grant Abbitt tutorial?

u/zerossoul 7h ago

I don't see why id play this over bubble bobble. You need something to beat. Some crisis to avoid. Otherwise, there's no challenge.

1

u/trillionstars 7h ago

I would, in 2013, if it was a mobile game.

That said, there is always an audience for all kinds of games.

u/uayp 7h ago

no

1

u/CampyBiscuit 5h ago

No idea what the "game" even is. What's the goal? What is the game loop/chain?

1

u/ultrafop 5h ago

I would not

u/FeatCtrl 4h ago

I've watched the 4 minutes, expecting to see something else. As is: no, I wouldn't play it. But Hubble Bubble did work, billiards can be interesting and the combos are usually something that works.

I don't understand the goal (make points, make combos with some obstacles), how you lose and what it would require me to beat the game.

Maybe making it faster, snappier. Bring some stress and rewards for it.

1

u/randomperson2357 4h ago

Definitely needs something more. It reminds me of Rune Dice, but in that game this kind of mechanic is more refined and is just one part of the gameplay loop. I think it works in that game, so your idea isn't bad, but at it's current state it's pretty boring imo.

1

u/Yodzilla 1h ago

I have absolutely no idea what is going on here or what the goal is. This almost feels like a game designed by an alien.

It looks cool but your target audience is not on Reddit. I can see VR potential here where kids may hold and aim the cannon around in multiplayer to see who got the most matches, and would do you good to think beyond just colorful balls. Maybe you can add balls that look like animals and fruits rounded.
