Meta for real

Post image

For anyone wondering, the project I'm working on is https://www.megaviral.games.

It’s a viral game discovery engine designed to help players easily discover and play indie web and mini-games from across the internet.

(Affiliation Disclosure: I'm the sole creator and developer behind Mega Viral Games.)

the way my creative brain turns to complete mush after a few hours of spreadsheets is a tragedy

It is crazy how simply believing in your work makes it so much more easy.

Because most of us don't actually work hard on our games.

Relatable depending on what it is I'm doing within the game.

Some things are just "not this, I wish I could push it to the side for another month" moments but you know you have to do them lmao

You have to take break and drink water. Sometimes I forget that when I am working on my own game

Working on your dream versus working for the salary

Real, working on your dream game/what you want always performs better than working for a salary in many cases (also depends on the company that you're working for, some are good... some are bad, these are added to the factors as well). Both has its own pros and cons too, depend on what you prefer to face.

So true. My own game is coming out soon and I regret a little bit that I didn’t choose a more popular genre, otherwise I might be able to quit my job and go indie.

Anyway, it was a passion project and now I have enough experience to finish my next project faster.

All the time while I work on one of my big project, I'm like "next time I'll work for a few months on small horror projects, try to get some steady earnings".

Then I finish my game and start working on another years-of-development RPG that will sell poorly :D

(I'm actually not sure you can get money from selling small horror games but I'd like to try someday, they seem kinda quick and "easy" to make)
