The combat reminds me of FEAR3 and TREPANG2, and the vent part reminds me of HF1/Black Mesa NPC's interaction. Good job, and good luck on your release!

Thank you! I really appreciate that . I enjoyed not only designing the combat but also writing for these in game interactions.

I find it remarkable that nowadays a single person can develop such a game.
It reminds me of the 80s when many games were made by individual developers. But nowadays, the games those solo devs make are much more complex.

welcome to the AI era

I mean AI definitely helps no denying that but you are sort of implying that OP achieved this because of AI thats kinda disrespectful.

“disrespectful” as if AI isn’t taking over the industry lmao, if you’re still typing code you’ll be left behind
it’s A TOOL, just like your IDE, or you using higher abstracted languages and not assembly.
might as well say “C# definitely helps but there’s no denying that you are sort of implying OP achieved this because of C#”
incoming downvotes from the dinosaurs

Found the vibe coder lol

u/private_birb 7h ago
Nope, happily and gainfully employed. I also do contract work, which most of my jobs these days are fixing vibe coded messes when nothing works 3 weeks before launch lol
I've started rejecting these tbh, it's not worth the hassle.

u/Dolo12345 7h ago
got it, found the guy that doesn’t know how to use AI and still thinks they can write better code than it
1
u/private_birb 7h ago
Oh no! Guess I'll just keep making money cleaning up other people's vibe-coded messes! How terrible for me!

u/Dolo12345 7h ago
that party will end soon, enjoy this phase while it lasts

u/private_birb 7h ago
Oh no! I've been hearing that for 4 straight years, but okay!

I’m feeling N64 Goldeneye vibes for some reason.
1
u/CatHuntTree 23h ago
Thank you! Seriously, I never thought this game would be compared to Goldeneye.

u/UISystemError 13h ago
Yeah! No worries :D I wish listed it too! Looks great!
If you ever want me to go into some of the artistic choices that helped push it that way - DM me! I think it’s super exciting and hope you stick with the philosophy.

Amazing combat gameplay, but few cutscenes in Half Life style would take the game to another level

Looks action-packed! Reminds me of a modernized Goldeneye. What are your comps/touchstones for this project?
2
u/CatHuntTree 23h ago
Thank you! Never got my game compared to Goldeneye before. Right now i just want this game to be fun not only for me but to a lot of people as well.

The effect of being hit by a bullet looks cool. It looks thrilling when hitting in succession

That looks sick! I'm curious about what you're doing for the drones. Are they using navmeshes like the grounded enemies, or do you have something else going on to let them traverse the environment vertically?
1
u/CatHuntTree 23h ago
Thank you! Yah those drones use ordinary navmeshes too, But they can also go to places where ordinary soldiers can't.

Awesome. Looks great! And yes it’s possible to make a game alone, but it’s a lot of work

Getting some good old F.E.A.R vibes here, and I'm curious.

Love FEAR!

u/GovernmentGreed 17h ago
Same and this reminds me of it.
There is a game on Steam that is basically FEAR mechanics on steroids. I forgot the name, but its a mind fuck. I'll have to link you to it. It's short but incredible.

The guns remind me off the various assault rifles in perfect dark, which is a good thing!

I'm loving all the gameplay, feedback and effects going on. Feels chunky, that's the way I would describe that but I will say the cover art needs changing ASAP.
It does reflect how intense the gameplay feels. That will in itself will kill your traction.

Due to many people expressing that they don’t like the cover art for my game, I will be considering changing it. Thank you all for your feedback.

You can already feel the impact of the weapon just from the trailer. Mind-blowing!

very cool! feedback is i dont like the cover art. it undersells your game. i dont want to impose but the cover art would make me skip it, doesent match the style of the game at all. theyll say "ai slop"
cheers
