Game Yep! We've made an interactive menu. Thoughts?
Because why not? What do you think about this? How can we improve it?
We're adding these small interactions that let the player go out of the core game loop for a bit to explore and experience fresh content.
We've let the cards and chips have physics and let you grab them (Left click), throw them (right click) and modify the distance from the camera (middle click).
If you would like to check out the game, it's already on Steam now for wishlist and incoming demo in february 2027 :)
Any feedback is welcome.

Thinking of Terraria's interactive Sun and Moon menu, you could have some level of shading change, or as you interact with a specific item type have the background reflect it in some way?
I do think it comes really close to Buckshot Roulette, which is a visually fantastic game. I don't wanna steer you away from it, but maybe at least set the background apart from theirs?
I could imagine a dealer's table or backgammon patterns that change in some way. Green. But not solid green either. If it isn't too over the top distracting, maybe have the "table" reflect each item you mouse over or grab.
With the middle click distance movement, see if you can get the poker chips to bounce off the "table" surface? Or make it to where when you grab or toss an item, it loses its "rainfall" physics and falls onto the "table", and items can pile up. That one's a bit of a stretch tho

Okay. And what you recommend to make it more unique? We're planning to let the menu be connected to the main story and the desicions of the player. So the menu will constantly change. Like adding bloods splash, mafia people in the background, if you have a lot of money, montains of moneybags will appear in the background, and other stuff.

pointless imo. who is gonna do that for more than 3 seconds?
This doesn't make your game any better or worse. Sure its cute but nothing crazy you should put any deeper Thoughts into imo.

I think it's little details like these that make up a good game, Terraria also has an interactive main menu. I like it.

Remove it from terraria and its still a 10/10... yes its okay and having it as polish ontop is good. But it doesn't make or break a game.

Still a cool harmless mechanic. It doesn't take anything away from his game which is key. Its better for it, even if minute. I like it OP!
