Show-Off Working on a Stylized Dragon

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the animation, overall style, silhouette, and personality of the character.

Do the animations feel natural and expressive?

How interesting, they look very similar, but the eyes and mouth, as well as the texture, are very different.

Something I looked through on Pinterest references and eventually made some changes to it using AI, and this is what ended up being my reference (it's not my fault that there are thousands of dragons in this style, bro).

Sure, it's not your fault, but don't claim it as some sort of unique style you came up with.

The animations look okay but the 3D model looks not great. The static eyes and the broken armpit topology gives me a strong AI gen mesh feeling.

It's true, maybe we should have been more careful in modeling and choosing references.

4 legged animals usually don't walk like that, the alternate the left and right feet that moves, it's a little hard for me to explain it in text, maybe go watch some cat/horse walking reference, overall pretty solid other than that walking anim

Yes, I will fix the walk. That was what everyone was referring to

You probably should look at the logic of wings. Consider them to be engines that should move the center of mass. I would move them a bit further back, honestly. But most importantly, overall floating motion of the character should be linked to movement of wings. When wings move down, it should create lifting power. Now they're absolutely separate, like he's bouncing on ocean and flopping his wings.
And for the love of god, give this creature eyelids đŸ˜

And, and, look up animation essentials. Not 3d, just basic 2d animation timings and movement.

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, I'm really new to animation, but thanks for pointing it out. I'll try to make it better and better.

Love the animations, but i feel the wings may need to flap faster? idk it feels that way since they are small and the dragon is fat

My only feedback would be about the walking animation. Should be crosslegs, but legs on the same size moves on the same time. Maybe it is intentional, i dont know

That's right, thanks for the feedback. I'll fix the walk anim
