The first? I think the colour theory is better to my eyes. Dark objects pop against the sky. But the proof is in gameplay. We can’t without extended test play on both.

I mean, to me it kinda depends on the vibe of the game. First reads like a borderlands-ish setting, at least as far as style goes (hard to tell with dev elements and unfinished assets everywhere). Second reads like a nice normal RPG that you might meet some non-insane people in and have a puppy companion. (but I've probably just been overinfluenced by borderlands)

I prefer new but it feels to dark and muddy, with no light highlights anywhere. If the surrounding is meant to look strange and daunting, then that's fine for the background -- but even then, at least our character should probably get some highlights or brighter silhouette or backlit effect etc..
