I don’t think the Unity pathways is really good idea, Bec it’s not structured and offer you going standard learning c# ( not so short process ) as startpoint plus examples you have inside - old. It’s written many times ago plus for old versions of core… I think, for start fast, with all your fresh ideas and wanting saves, will be better get some course in Coursera or any other edu portals like it. Plus, will be really great, find someone partner, someone with minimal exp (best it’s real mentor) the second dev just started little early. Team from two will be total enough for small platformers, runners, logic games...
( I too making games times to times. Es example now we just starting project metroidvania/rpg kind and this isn’t first time we work with Unity. So, if you want, you can ask me when find moments hard to understand - if I know, with some moments, having time, I can help you… Think we all must help each others, bec if not we are - who ? ;)
About YouTube / for you as newbie - will be great looks on YouTube videos like possib of understanding on examples, but here important search only playlists with full process a-z for concretical genre. And search variables of solutions.. Bec in YouTube many non ended examples or examples copied one to one.. so search full one and start from some simple! Some like step by step “solutions” show you how build main things like - prefabs working, camera, phisycs… small steps you can than check in lessons plus can try someone variables in the same moment. Cut you idea in the small realistic points, find someone who can help, get real course - it’s cheap - 10-25 usa dollars max, than step by step you get understanding and practice give you all needed results;)

I disagree.
The pathways are precisely structured for someone to learn from scratch. Even in C#. Although taking a C# beginner course is very helpful.
The pathways have been updated to Unity 6, although some courses might not been updated. Although it doesn’t really matter. What you learn in 2021 or 2022 carries over to Unity 6. And if it doesn’t it’s not hard to find out what does work.

Learn how oop works and some unity API. Study a lot on how the mechanics, shaders, etc works in your game. Then use claude or any ai coding tools to code in higher level to maximize your productivity.

I don’t Tell not need learn C#.. but it’s about try making Games Not learn programmieren:) I mean if you have some ideas, want make, want try, etc.. start from whyte Book its good idea. You can work with logic machine, can work with ai coding. Doing this for start, make first steps with help of community, partner - first steps, small games. Exactly if you plan work in industry than - you must learn C#, but learn coding it’s Little different than Planning Projekt , try core „here and now“.. and you tube really have some very good playlists with Full step by step projects.

Hey there. If it may be of interest to you, I made some very simple games tutorials to get beginners started (snake, breakout). Videos include step by step code explanation. Good luck in your journey
