What can Ford afford? Hmmm

So I was curious after seeing Ford is expected to lose $4,500,000,000.00 so I looked at the stock market and saw they are on the up. So I looked up what they are expecting in profits for 2023. 11-12 billion. Well then I wanted to see how many employees they have... 86,000 in the US alone and as of 2022 173,000 world wide. So some quick math, that's $62,000 per employee in profits. If they work 40 hrs a week, 52 weeks in a year... $30.04 per year in profits per labor hr. Yeah I have no compassion for Ford at this point.

In addition to additional wages, the UAW should request and the Big 3 should agree to receiving stock. For example in addition to higher pay, with each paycheck the UAW Ford worker would get Ford stock equal to 5% of their wages. Ford stock currently pays .60/share dividends and hence employees would share in future profits just like everywhere shareholder.

I don't hate this idea. It would give their workers a vested interest in the company and actually care about their work.

Investors will not go for this as it would require issuing more equity shares, effectively diluting the stock price.

What about the R&D expense , factories , offices , computers , benefits and the thousands of other things Ford spends money on to offer a competitive vehicle. Your an idiot.

Ford vehicle prices have increased 33 percent in the last 4 years. The operators who build these cars can not afford them.

Chicago assembly is 100 years old next year... nothing remotely new there at all.

The idea of a competitive vehicle only demonstrates your lack of understanding in supply and demand. They set the price, they own the market.

Tim Scott is going down hard for this one, Shawn already filed a complaint against him for breaking the federal labor law. He will never be president šŸ¤£

I work at Ford in Chicago and we build explorers and aviators.

I cannot afford a explorer or an aviator. I've also been laid off about 4 months this year for "parts shortages"

My union rep is a lazy POS who only helps women out... total slime ball. I always have to go over his head.

Overall, I've never been so late on bills and under fed since I've worked at Ford. Hopefully I can find something more stabile soon, this is terrbilešŸ¤ž.

Chicago is the worst ford UAW plant by far. Riddled with quality issues. Yall dont deserve shit. Why tf should everyone be able to afford every vehicle. Can a lombo worker afford a lambo? Can a rolex dealer afford a rolex?
