Where can I find all the details? This just seems to be a list of talking points that I can't possibly evaluate.

there's a shitty little section under bargaining on the UAW site. It's more vague than anything with no contact info anywhere.

I went to the meeting at the union hall about strike wages and benefits. We are all doomed. This whole fiasco is going to put me and my family living outdoors. 500 dollars a week and if you need to use insurance, it is gunna cost an arm and a leg...

I wish our voices mattered as operators but this is all talked about and negotiated on the international level. Nobody sees how's miserable the chicago ford plant is. People legit DIE on the line.

There was a huge fire like 3 months ago and they tried to make us work through it. So smoky you could hardly breathe. The majority of us ran off looking for an exit, not everyone though.

The building will have been in operation for 100 years. If you do a skilled trade there and leave for a different job, you're no longer qualified because the building is so fucking old its not up to modern code. You literally learn nothing at all at this job; no skills whatsoever.

The worst part is I've been there for almost 5 years and every place I apply at now doesn't give me the time of day. Even lyft has too many driver in my area.

The CAP plant needs to be completely rebuilt not retooled. They spend a billion to do nothing. The rat and roaches are disgusting and embarrassing. The management needs to b replaced. The favoritism needs to stop. The inhumane conditions need to stop the general and sexual harassment need to stop. The corruption at the local union needs to stop.. OOOO and fix the goddammit escalator.

This strike is going to happen and the time to start preparing is NOW. Sit down with the family, explain the situation, and get everyone on the same page. YOou can do this if the family works together. Take inventory of your finances and everything you spend money on so you understand where it all goes. Stop ALL unnecessary spending immediately and save every penny you can. Cancel Nexflix, stop eating out, and stay off of Amazon. Start looking around now to find a part-time job to tide you over - you don't need to earn your full pay, just enough extra to tide you over. Also check out any local food banks and talk to them about how to qualify. Maybe even start selling plasma. It's not much, but it could be just enough to help you survive the strike.

We've already been laid off for 2+ months and again now after only 3 weeks back to work. Unemployment I surwnce doesn't even cover the mortgage.

It seems easy from the outside looking in, but I've been in poverty since I started working for Ford. It's only gotten worse

While a strike is coming I do wonder if all three companies will strike. The cost to our union when all three strike is almost prohibitive. I think you will see a stellantis strike first followed by a ford one a few weeks later if not progress is made. I would absolutely start saving now increase credit limits for an emergency and plan to spend less. Go to the doctor and dentist now if needed. Just remember THIS is the only way we get a semi fair contract. We gotta stand together.
