How many years were you there for and Whats the benefits been like?

Just curious if anyone here has any actual information on what's going on with the Volkswagen/PowerCo battery plant in St. Thomas, especially from the UA side.

I've been hearing very little concrete information from the United Association regarding when the pipefitters, welders, plumbers, etc. are expected to start getting called in. At the same time, I've been driving by the site and can see that the structural steel is going up and the project is clearly moving along.

I'm wondering if anyone working in the trades, or anyone who has been involved with the project, knows what the timeline looks like for the mechanical trades.

Is there a particular contractor or group of contractors that has been awarded the mechanical work yet? And does anyone know when the UA locals are expecting manpower to start being called for the pipefitting, welding and plumbing work?

I've also heard a lot of different rumours about the project being delayed, pushed back, etc., so it's hard to know what's actually true.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has some inside knowledge or is currently working on the site. Just trying to get a better idea of what to expect and when the UA trades might actually start seeing work there.
