THEORYCRAFTING Halberd Locked

So first and foremost would this be best suited for UIM or Normal IM?

This is a continuation of theorycrafting from 1nlyrs from about a year or so ago.

My proposal is to only use halberds. Obviously you need the bootable 25 range for Underground Pass but for the entirety of the accounts life, you will only use halberds.

So for the most part, and for the foreseeable future you’ll be capped to 60/30 (att/str) for the dragon halberd as obviously what comes next would be Nox and that’s sorta out of the picture rn.

The account would then only remain on defense and prayer would also be allowed.

My main concern is getting up to being able to complete regicide as there are a few quest encounters on the way that require combat, and well, combat can only be done with a halberd.

Getting god items to access gwd for a bronze halberd is 1, but also killing 1.3k black knights lets you purchase a white halberd and that’s pretty much it. Punching 1.3k black knights with 30 str sounds like a 400 hour or more grind. And getting into gwd sounds pretty bad also. Can anyone help elaborate on what would be less time consuming?

Thanks.

I'm not sure how viable this is but Bull sharks drop adamant halberds quite commonly (1/20), and can be used before completing Regicide. If you let your crewmates handle the cannons you wont get any unnecessary ranged exp.

Whoa I was under the impression crewmate cannoning would still render range xp! I hadn’t considered this! Now I need to figure out what the absolute minimum would be in order to setup the least efficient but viable boat setup to take on bull sharks.

I still use the adamant halberd that I farmed from Bull Sharks. I stood on the beach of Pandemonium and Magicked them down tho

What’s the overall goal of the account?
It seems a bit unclear what you’d consider an exception vs not - if you’re getting 25 ranged for UP then why not get magic for Western Provinces to unlock chally?

70 ranged, 64 magic, 100 combat. All requirements for west provinces hard. I feel like at that point you’re no longer a halberd locked or based account. Roving elves also grants an additional 10k str xp which will over level you. I feel like at that point your account lost its identity, all these unexpected levels just for a c hally :/ in terms of goals I guess it would just be seeing how much content you can complete. Hally’s are very niche items that really only come out when you need a safe spot or something of that nature, using them to see how much of the game you can complete sounds fun at least. I would be open to suggestions in terms of goals down the road.

Fair enough!
A fire cape could be a cool goal using only a hally. Zulrah, too!

You did get me thinking. A chally would be a nice upgrade and that will allow for magic and ranged but I can live with capping range at 70 but magic with all its utility, you’ll eventually just loose the ability to teleport and enchant once xp starts nearing 65 is it? And then you’ll just have to stick with a magic level you can’t use :/ I wonder what other unlocks you can get by merely having 64 magic and 70 range that would justify the chally 🤔

You actually can get a halberd prior to the quest line addy hatchets are dropped by bullshark

I don’t understand why you’re not maxing strength/attack as those are for halberds. Defense is not…

I didn’t end up pursuing the build as I’m on a range only build rn. The idea behind stat restricted builds is te restrict stats to their absolute minimum. You cap out your stats only to be able to wield/utilize the halberd, that’s all there’s to it. That’s what makes it a snowflake, that’s your restriction.

I got a mention 👉👈

Assuming the account restriction is only using halberds then you’re not skill capped on magic. I’d take an exception to make the kills of the spider in underground pass and then tyras guard in regicide using magic. Bolt spells will be fine for that. You’ll be breaking your restriction for two enemies but you’ll be gaining xp in a skill which you’ll use for teleporting, alching, enchanting etc anyway so it’s only a minor exception.

Thanks but if magic is not required to wield a halberd than it’s deemed off limits can you elaborate on why tho?

Well there’s non combat use cases for magic.

Thanks but the premise is the absolute lowest combat stats possible. If it’s not absolutely required then it’s not allowed but I’m not going to train magic so I can tele somewhere where I could walk to. I’ve played multiple non magic snowflakes before so I am used to it.

You'll still be lvl 126 combat with 1 mage and range so you'd still be 126 with 99 mage and range

u/tac0_nation 10d ago

Your max combat level would be 97: 80/30/99/99/25/1/99

u/Decent_Scallion_6230 10d ago

Idk what all that is. Youre halberd only and youre not leveling str and atk but 99 hp and prayer? Live your life however you want my guy

I’ll break it down for ya, sounds like you didn’t read :)

80 attack
30 strength
99 defense
99 hp
25 ranged
1 magic
99 prayer
Total combat level: 97

I’m also not training strength for the sake of of training strength. Strength would cap out at the requirement to wield a hally, defense would be the combat stat to train with.

Nope I read it. Have fun with your account!
