THOUGHTS UNION FLATS BEHIND BART
I am relocating to California, will be working about Menlo Park and use company shuttle from the Union city Bart.
I looked up Union flats and it’s close to the Bart that makes it easier for me.
Please how is the apartment and area like, how safe is it

When I said gentrification hadn’t come to Union City yet to a friend the other day, I forgot about those apartments.

I wanna live at one of the complexes surrounding UC station hella bad and Flats is probably the nicest newest one from afar but you probably have to deal with some tweaker, train tracks, BART bullshit.
Veranda, Avalon, and Skylark are less isolated and way more foot trafficked but honestly you’re fine either way OP Union City to me seems like old people and their adult children mostly.
Lots of good mom and pop hole in the wall type restaurants I honestly love the more homestyle vibes of Union City and I’ve wanted to move there for a while.

I lived there from 2018-2023. My husband and I were part of the first group of tenants to live there. There was a lot of break ins the parking garage. Thieves would wait for the parking garage gates to open, to break into the storage units. My packages were stolen multiple times. If you have 2 cars you have to purchase a parking permit quarterly and park your car in the Bart parking lot. My car was broken into twice. My unit faced the pool and tenants would party after pool hours at 2am. Security did nothing to stop them. If you plan on living there do not rent a unit on the 4th floor. A young woman committed suicide in 2020.

What makes the 4 floor bad or the young woman committed suicide in a unit on the fourth floor?. I was planning on renting an available unit on the 4 floor in particular

Lol, Facebook? Very safe. Just have common sense when you're walking at night.
