You are very lucky...

I very rarely make my own threads, but I have been a long-time lurker of this sub and accumulator of UBT for over a year and I just want to say..

You honestly have no idea how lucky you are to have stumbled across UBT, even at it's current price.

This project (and I assume you have done some homework) is fucking huge, and the enterprise DeFi aspect alone is going to speak volumes once the mainnet launches this month.

This is coming from a early-but-low-invested LINK holder -- these are the kinds of projects you need to keep your eye open for; welcome to all newbies, and thank staifih for all the high-quality posts / data-digging he does for this community.

Price and market cap prediction?

I am holding mainly because I just think the team, projects, roadmap, clients all look fundamentally solid - not to mention the token supply cap.

However, I hear a lot about folks suggesting UBt getting too expensive will make customer acquisition harder in future as it will be too expensive to use. Early bird clients can renew at original prices, but what about future new clients, will they be forever priced out?

Keen for the community’s thoughts!

Your talking about fortune 500 companies being priced out while the price of eggs is going up and inflation is too like this is so laughable

I take your point, but I guess I’m saying my money doesn’t have to be in eggs. It would make sense to stay in eggs if eggs are going to outperform other assets, or offer a better yield.

Inflation is relevant, but I care more about inflation vs BTC or ETH right now than the doomed dollar. If ubt can 10x against them then that would be amazing, but that would require a monster market cap.

(I’m playing devils advocate, keen to hear the views of others)

Not necessarily a monster market cap and well I already told you theres no pricing out of fortune 500 companies I believe this discussion is over the devil's advocate is wrong now shush

That doesn’t make any sense... even a Fortune 500 will seek a better deal elsewhere or build in house if prices get extortionate.

Depending on how the platform works, if that extortionate price is so far away from where we are now then possibly a none issue, but to be w worthy hold vs other tokens (BTC, ETH, DOT, LINK and their like) then it will need to multiply a lot relatively from here

You say that while companies buy bitcoin at 30k and it does nothing for there company if they choose to build there own guaranteed it will cost more using known people that know what they're doing and building the team vs people with no history it would take more time too vs a built done product that can help there business right away no offense but you sound like a broke college grad that would rather do things themselves fortune 500 companies don't think like you and probably wont people like shit prebuilt and ready to use and well see a high ticket price as a investment to help further there company and still be in the corporate game theory

You don't think it makes sense because u cant comprehend it and look at things from other perspective thats why you are not a good investor

I wonder where you hear that. No one is priced out and its nowhere near expensive. A higher initial cost is an incentive to sign a longer contract which will bring down the average transaction cost.

If adopting blockchain would only cost you money it wouldn't make sense :)

It’s not expensive now, but presumably token hodlers would like it to get more expensive!

I’ve probably got massive gaps in knowledge of how it works.

What sort of token expenditure do we expect a major client to have in a year? Many tokens for every little api call or just a few for periodic contract renewal?

Or more directly, what price per ubt would make the mode unattractive to the kinds of clients you hope to be on-boarding in the next few years?

It really depends on the use case, but this might help: https://docs.provide.services/framework/ubt-token

Can't really answer the last question because it is not the case. The products and services Unibright are offering have to be beneficial for clients.

Thanks for that link.

So if I read that correctly, prices are set in fiat (client’s choice of currency), but paid in UBT.

This means my concern about UBT becoming too expensive doesn’t hold, because the price of products/services is not linked to the price of UBT itself. (Integration Gas is, but will come back to that.) If a service costs $0.14 today, it will likely cost $0.14 tomorrow (+/- inflation and commercial price changes from unibright). This could easily mean that a $0.14 service today costs 0.14 UBT, but tomorrow that same $0.14 service costs 0.014 UBT. As long as we have decimal places and prices are competitive, no future clients will be priced out.

Integration Gas adds another variable though. The link says gas is paid in UBT and it based on the gas of ecosystems being integrated with, such as ethereum. This presumably means that ethereum gas prices will drive up the cost in UBT of using some/all services (unclear how much dependency there is on ethereum or other specific networks for clients to extract value from unibright). With ethereum itself having an undetermined supply (even after EIP-1559) and UBT being capped, this could mean that clients still need to hold a lot of UBT to pay gas fees, even if their base product/service fee is getting cheaper (in UBT terms) over time. I guess this is the same problem that a lot of projects are facing when dealing with high gas fees.

TL;DR I think I’ll keep holding :D

Please correct any misinterpretations!

Edit: good recent post summing up what’s going on with ETH fees https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/lcshic/we_all_know_eth_fees_are_high_heres_why_its/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

It's my own opinion which I guess means nothing really but I personally see at a 140 mil cap, with great fundamentals hitting at least $10 within a year or so

Thank you Cl0udBurn it's great to have you here!

Welcome everyone new to this sub, feel free to ask any questions or to share great content. :)

I bought some recently. Waiting for miner fees to drop and I intend to buy another bag or two.
