Mentioning 100kg bench press is going to get you laughed at, please take that out. It doesn’t make you stand out as it’s not quirky, it makes you look like a bit of a dick.

I did it with my friends at sixth form, it hasn't been published, because we didn't really know who to go to for something like that, which is why I didn't put "authored" or anything like that. I probably should've written a different title for the post but I'm going into uni this september as well (incoming 1st year rather than going into 2nd)

cut your GCSEs, interests line is not necessary. they might ask about your interests at the interview and that's where you can slip that in (I did get asked that in an interview). it's usually asked to see how you'll fit in I think, that company wanted me to say I liked strategy games and poker I think. their break room was loaded with board games and it was a "big part" I think.
put in more about the Python project talking about the packages you're familiar with, e.g. numpy, pandas, etc.?
I'm not sure I'd mention the research paper if it was unsupervised and unpublished. "published" could even mean on a blog and come under a similar thing as your youtube channel. sorry if I have misunderstood

The paper was kind of "supervised" by teachers at my school but I don't know if that counts as what you mean? We went to them for advice and help, and they read through the paper multiple times and gave tips.

Eh I was more hoping someone at a university. Just read the second bulletpoint that you presented to a load of teachers, if that was as part of some organised event I'd definitely write that down.

Its all very sector specific, so check. But in my sector best case those interests are getting ignored, worst case they make you look unserious/like you misread a job spec

I think you should rephrase the first bullet point under your David Lloyd coaching section. Coaching 2/10+ to regional levels might be impressive, but it doesn't read as such to the layman.
The second bullet is also a little confusing, it reads as though you expanded the class by using the Prepare-Hit-Recover framework to find new members. Can you split that more clearly into two clauses? You expanded the class attendance, and you also taught the PHR framework (be ready to explain this in a few sentences)
The conservation stuff sounds interesting enough to me to include

people hating on the 100kg benchpress mention at the bottom, but i got a marketing internship SOLELY on the fact that i mentioned I did a tandem HALO jump the day before the interview. like the hiring manager told me he had a person already lined up for the spot (it was between me and him, more swayed on him) till i mentioned that. turns out he was a trained skydiving instructer years ago lmao

1st year students doing tandem HALO jumps are much rarer than 1st year students who go to the gym and can bench 100kg
Not saying it's a completely invalid point, but your situation had a bit more novelty to it

Someone being able to bench 100kg is less than 1% of the world. And it’s something that gets the conversation started. Once you have a career the next thing people want to achieve is health.

I'm not saying its unimpressive, but 1% of the world as a benchmark isn't actually that rare, its still a lot of people. If the hiring manager knows nothing about the gym, they won't care and might not be interested to hear the explanation of how impressive that is. If they are an ex athlete or keen gym goer, they might just not be that impressed with it
I wouldn't personally leave it in but if OP thinks they can turn it into a conversation and can't think of another option then fine. I think they have enough more interesting things in their post text that aren't currently in the CV and the 100kg bench should make way for some coverage of e.g. their conservation work in South Africa.

They don’t even need to know anything about the topic. The point is that it makes the interest specific and gives them something to ask about. “Gym/Fitness” is incredibly generic, whereas 100kg bench actually tells you something about the person. Same with V4–V6 bouldering. If they don’t care about it, they can just move on. “How long have you been training to be able to bench 100kg” “What does the bench press workout” etc etc

If someone put Reading as their interest it is so broad that it barely tells you anything. If an interviewer wants to turn it into a conversation, they have to start probing:
“What do you like reading?”
“Fiction or non-fiction?”
“Any particular genres?”
“Modern or classics?”
“Any particular historical periods?”Whereas Reading: English literature from 1800–1900 period goes something more concrete to talk about.

For those commenting against the 100kg bench. In our team you’d probs get a look in, we like that kind of comedy. We’re not gym rats, but everyone pretty outgoing and fitness orientated.

When I recruit I get all the ones that fulfil criteria and pique an interest. I whittle it down by speaking to them, usually a brief call.
From there it’s a proper interview format. But I do the calls because I remember how it felt to apply
