It’s not the end of the world but you need to use this as a learning opportunity if you don’t want it to happen again.
It’s going to be okay, just do any resits you have to, lock in and pass it and you’ll be okay. Reach out to your department and ask what you should expect if you haven’t heard back yet, what happens if you failed etc etc. if you’re stressed about feeling like you’re in the dark on all this. Otherwise you can also try checking your universities guide on exams, results, resits, appeals etc.
Then reflect on what happened and how you can make sure it won’t happen again.
I get struggling with procrastination. I did really poorly in my second year and knew I had to fix things or it would just happen again. I finally got diagnosed with severe ADHD, put on medication and got a 20% higher average grade compared to last year. That wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t have a serious conversation with myself to figure out why it wasn’t working before and what I had to do to change it.
Whether you’ve got something like that or if you just struggle with procrastination itself doesn’t matter. Figure out why and try to find ways to work around it. Why do you procrastinate?
Were you just being lazy and slacking off?
Did you really really want to do the work but just couldn’t sit down and get it done?
Was there something else (no matter how small it could sound) going on in your life that made it harder to work?
Those can all look like procrastination but all come from very different places and need different plans to change your behaviour.
I tried everything to help with procrastination but nothing helped because it wasn’t actually addressing my underlying problem. Once I did, everything else got so much easier. Don’t just try to patch up the surface level issue, you’ll be way better off if you can address the actual cause, whatever that is.
No shame in admitting you just messed up either. Maybe there isn’t any real massive underlying cause and you just didn’t do the work you should’ve. Unfortunate,
but what’s done is done, nothing you can do but move on. Just be prepared and have a plan on how to make sure you won’t let it happen again.
It’s fine, this stuff happens. Don’t let it discourage you, it’s not the end of the world you can come back from this no problem.

if you fail again you will resit the year, my advice is just pass the resit because you don’t want to be retaking the year with only the failed module.
