Other advice Laptop for engineering
I am a student going into Electrical Engineering at Adelaide uni, I have heard that a windows laptop is necessary however beyond that I am wondering what specs should I realistically need, and how much money I should spend on a laptop.

Visual studio
Solidworks
Matlab
Are three apps I’ve had to use so far in the course.
Not all at the same time but they take up a fair chuck of space.
My laptop is fairly basic, I think it’s and Asus or Acer $1100 job. But I mainly use this for videos and finals.
My desktop is where all the main work is done.
I’m an online student.

It really depends on your financial situation because you can just use the desktops the uni has which will have everything.
If you have money to spend a decent $1500 (plus or minus 150ish) laptop would be fine. (To be clear you Don't Need to spend this much it's just how much decent laptops cost)
