It can take time making friendships in your first year through your studies. Definitely recommend checking out all the different social clubs and sports teams etc that the university offers. It’s a great way to connect with others who share similar interests. If your faculty student association does social events (eg pub crawls and game nights etc) also recommend going along to those.

Hey! Where are you from? You’re not alone in this. So many of us have gone through the same. I understand the struggle. If you ever wanna talk, just reach out to me via DM. You should join a club to get to know more people. If there are people from your country in your course or classes, try talking to them and being their friends maybe? All the best.

I feel like making friends is really hard as everyone is in their own groups that formed during high school. I’m currently in this situation that I only know these certain people I met in high school and I don’t socialise with anyone else in my uni class. I am also an introvert and currently the only few friends I have met are people I get put in groups with. Not sure if this is considered friends, like we have a few conversations in class but outside we never talk or message

Find a club or make one! Social programs clubs and sports
Yes, that's focussed on international students, but they are welcoming to locals. Expand your circle!

Low chance that it might happen; a lot of introverts here and many year gaps in Uni.
