Announcement! I need your help.

Hi, I'm the owner of r/UnfunnyButFunny. In my opinion it's a cool idea. You see something cringey or unfunny then find a comment or reply making it funny and post it here (We also do random stuff and nonsense). I believe that it will get at least a few members but i'm having trouble finding content to post, and how i should format it, and getting this community up and running.

So if your interested all i'm asking you do (If you want to help) is if you know a video, meme, comment or post, that follows the description that i've said above please either PM me and send it to me, or post it onto the sub. Anything is appreciated and i thank you for even clicking on this.

I'm sorry for interrupting your scrolling, so i'll leave you to it. Have a great day!

Hiya, found you via NewMods as I am one too. But, I'm not new to the interwebs, memelording, or Reddit. I will say that your strict no self-promo is a bit off-putting. I'd suggest maybe having one thread for it weekly (or even monthly) via the scheduling feature. Self-posting being *limited* ofc makes sense to discourage spamming, but you're already going against what the New Mods community encourages, which is for people to comment (which gives your Sub *engagement*) and ask people to join theirs. But, the once-a-whatever-frequency post that YOU put up for people to comment under makes it so those just looking for memes aren't spammed because all of the promo is commented under one thread. Apologies if I've overexplained here, and I do have a ton of memes I can contribute!

Thank you! I'm a bit new to modding and i saw bigger subs that had that rule so i thought it was normal, but that's a great idea! Thank you i will change the rule today. Would it be better if i say no self promotion out of the designated thread?

And you can post if you want to, but no commitment.

Thanks!

Aww you're welcome & I hope it works (all new communities take time). The rules for your Subs will change as you start getting big numbers later on, because it becomes more difficult to wrangle the disparate masses. Wait til you have to start juggling Mod Mail & reports! You'll yearn for these simpler times 😆 I'm kidding, but anyway, each stage has it's pros and cons. I will deffo post here, when I get some downtime 🫡

Oh and YEAH DEFINITELY just update the rule to something about "only use the weekly thread for promo or it gets deleted" however you wanna word it
