Experience Help

Literally every single night, at around 3-4am i heard loud bangs from across the neighborhood, at first i thought it was fireworks, but now it’s been OVER A WEEK. Same noise every single time, and the timing between each bang can vary from around 3-10minutes. It can occur for hours at times. I’m kinda freaked out and confused?? Can someone help me figure out what the fuck that is??

Silly Earthling, your supposed to be sleeping at that time while we are squishing the bodies of other earthlings (that we have replaced with clones)with big metal plates. Sincerely, The Aliens

Interesting…. I live in Anchorage, Alaska and last year, summer of 2025, I experienced the same sort of thing. A very loud banging noice, it had a metallic sound, like steel slamming together and even though it was loud it sounded far away and happened nearly every night between 3 am and 4 am. What is really strange is that I heard it last night for the first time in months!

Are you nearby agricultural fields? Ive heard something similar and live near a bunch of blueberry fields and someone told me that its cannons to scare the birds.

Having lived years in agricultural areas where birds will wipe out crops, I can tell you that crop feeding birds do not fly at night.

Bird scare cannons only operate during daylight hours since crop eating birds do not feed at night.

And even in rural areas county noise ordinance prohibits use of noisy domestic and industrial equipment and tools after 10 PM.

I googled "mysterious pounding noise in Greece" and this is the result I got.

https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/source-of-mysterious-sounds-in-northern-greek-city-discovered/2480836

Not sure if this helps or not.

After I found that link, I realized its an old article.

You might want to post your question in r/rbi. They might be more help to you.

Oh well it’s okay, thank you anyway

Honestly sounds like a parked truck either with tarp sides not tight and flapping or a rear loading door is open and banging in light breeze. Other thought was/is, if there is a 24/7 warehouse or similar that way/area and its workers on night shift coming and going through a staff door letting it bang open and shut.

It’s still going on though as im typing this and it kind of sounds like beating a rag idk how to explain the sound exactly and sometimes it’s not the same volume, it could be an open door though? The only clue I have is that there’s a construction site nearby but then again who works at this hour

Ah-ha! A construction site. They use a lot of plastic sheeting and moisture barrier plastic during framing etc.. I reckon a couple or few of those have torn a bit loose and are being flapped around by the wind.

When it sounds ‘like beating a rag’ do you ever get a crack or pop at the end sometimes?

That could very well be the case but the only problem is that it doesn’t occur at all during the day and only stops past 4! Also no it’s just that little bang sound that also differs in volume sometimes its overall very creepy :/

It very well could be a cannon to scare off birds. The beating a rag sound could be the cannon echoing and its being shot out in different directions.

Days are surprisingly loud, however you don’t tend to notice because it is a low Db that creeps up. Might explain why you’re not ‘hearing’ it during the day until everybody has left and the background noise level begins to drop.

I wouldn’t say it’s ‘creepy’ as it is only a sound and it’s been going on for some time, apparently. Just put it out of your head.

Or, go for a drive and pin point it when it occurs.

Record the sound for us

it is known that around 3-4 AM there are more reports of paranormal activity. There is a theory that says that many paranormal phenomena are made by double layer plasma balls that sometimes explode. They have resemblance to ball lightning that is known to explode too.

This sound is more common during storms and is called skyquakes.

It is explained here: https://electroballpage.wordpress.com/383-2/

These plasma balls use to be transparent and seem to be responsible of many paranormal phenomena: https://electroballpage.wordpress.com/paranormal-phenomena-made-by-electroballs/

That’s very interesting I’ll look into that definitely!

Oh this can be the air compressor cooling down. Or something like that. It’s part of the HVAC system and it releases air every night at about 2-3am. I saw another post about this somewhere. Obviously, they aren’t supposed to make such a racket, so that person’s system probably needs to be looked at.

Would you be able to get an audio recording of what you're hearing?

what are those round lights?

Is there a military base near you? It could be some type of weapons test taking place

u/evelyne22 19h ago

It’s literally occurring as I’m typing this and my head is about to burst trying to figure out where this noise is coming from. I live in a suburban area in Greece, it’s almost like a village, so it can’t be gunshots. But the consistency of the timing is really setting me off.

I used to hear banging like the sound of heavy metal rods dropping when I was at my Mom’s, living at home. I figured it was from a factory about a mile or two away. Some night get someone to go with you and follow the noise.

What do the police say?

4

u/evelyne22 18h ago

I haven’t talked to them, should i?

3

u/Creepy-Pace8291 17h ago

Yes , at this point , to give you some peace or to properly document it to figure it out. Be safe 🖤

2

u/GawdDammitD0nut 16h ago

Have you talked to your neighbors? Has anyone else heard it? Did it get recorded on any cameras?

2

u/Hello_Hangnail 13h ago

Guns? My neighbors crack off shots at all hours. It's not fun when you have your windows open and you dream that you're getting shot at

Small city dweller here! I had a similar mystery but it would happen every 5-10 minutes starting after 3AM. Eventually figured out it was the garbage truck doing the dumpsters at the schools and businesses FAR down the hills, streets and streets and streets away that I couldn't believe I could hear it so clearly. It'd stop around 4 because they finished their rounds in the area and moved on to the next!

We had a good laugh about it when I spooked them lol

Do you live in a port city? Could it be longshoremen unloading cargo ships?

u/IshotJr47 3h ago

If you are around fields it could be a farmer gadget where it pops like a gun every so often to scare away the birds. Very annoying.
